Friends
Friends are there for you
No matter what you’re going through
They listen to your stories
5 they listen to you stories
Without commentaries
They laugh at your jokes
And your pokes
They offer comfort when you’re sad
10 And understand when you’re mad
They are supporters
And reporters
Though you may fight
Soon you’ll see the light
Leaving the Nest
One fine day, a mother bird turned to her chicks
“Today you are no longer babies” she said
“Today you are grown-ups; it is time to leave the nest”
The little birdies looked at each other
5 “I’m going out west” said one
“I’m going east” said a second
“I don’t want to go” said another
The mother bird hugged the reluctant one
“I don’t want you to go either honey bun
10 “But it’s time for you to grow up” the mother said
“I’m not sure if I’m ready” said another
“Then get ready my dears” advised the mother
The chicks get ready, as their mother told them
Not long after, the chicks leave, even the reluctant ones
With some encouragement from their mother
both of them were good!!

The theme of the first one was that friends are all ways there for you
The second one was growing up is hard
Both had imagery..
The first poem had rhyming-AA BB CC
The second poem had alliteration
